When Autumn Leafs Attack!!

Last week I had seen this Gardner using his blower to clean up the leaves on a house. So I thought what if a Gardner actually seen the leafs as a giant Leaf monster and had to use his blower to destroy it and save the day!! Hey I know to make the clean up even faster and pass the time better I would be thinking that. lol

Been a little under the weather so not really posting anything speacial other then a couple of Digi sketches. I was going to add color to them but not well enough so I left them black and white. Oh well. Maybe next time I'll get back to them and add a bit more.

Gobble Gobble???

Just wanted to wish everyone this week a Happy Thanksgiving. Everyone be safe this weekend and enjoy! Thought I'd put up some random Turkey's for the occasion. Honestly I think turkeys are one ugly bird but doggone they taste great! heh.

Morning at the Car Wash

I sketched the 1st page out while waiting at the Car Wash. Thought one of the guys drying the cars looked fun to draw. I might have exaggerated his porportions a bit but it's all in fun. The 2nd drawing I did when I got home. Don't know who I initially trying to draw so I just added a few things to kinda make him look like DC comics Red Tornado. I know his look is not exact but I tried to remember the best as I could costume wise.

More Fish Please!

Here's some more fishy sketches that I was playing around with. Was trying to come up with a little fish named squirt so played with that a bit and the 2nd page since I was on the fish subject so I thought I'd do some rough thumbnails of Aquaman in action.

Was driving through a residential street today and while I was waiting at a signal I noticed this house that I could see this little skull figure sticking up over the fence and brush. So since I had a moment I wanted to do some quicky sketches of it in different compositions. Something different to try out today.

Here's another look into my moleskine. As you can see when I mess up a drawing in my book I try to leave notes on it when I make mistakes instead of kicking myself in the butt. heh. But thought I'd post another page from my Mole.

Happy Halloween

You know the one thing I remember as a kid that happened a couple of instances while Trick or Treating there was always some people that would try ruining the fun with bombing kids with eggs while driving by. Yeah it sure sucks big time. But thought I'd have some fun and do a quick drawing and exaggerate that moment of Trick or Treat bombing.

Here's another memory sketch of a guy that was crossing the crosswalk in front of me A few days ago. He was holding a big ol stick as he was crossing so just decided to make that stick into a mop and added a bucket as well.

Rain Man

Was raining here in So. Cal early last week which is hard to believe since a couple of days later it was in the 90's. Unbelievable. Anyways I seen this homeless man near a freeway entrance braving the rain with a red plastic tarp trying to cover himself up with it. I never got a really good look at his face since I was driving at the moment but the little glance I did get was just enough for me to remember and get this memory sketch down before I forget.

Here's a page of sketches that are from my Moleskine Notebook. Alot of the drawings that I've posted on my blog are from the same sketchbook and other drawings are from other books I carry around. But I really digg the x-large notebook softcover. It takes my pencil and pen lines like butter and it's great since most of the time I like to do quick sketches and really try to focus on movement even if it doesn't make any sense. heh

My Beloved Monster And Me.

Was listening to the Shrek soundtrack and I really digg the song my Beloved Monster so I thought I would sketch up something heart warming that kinda goes with the song. I'm trying to learn to add watercolors to my sketches and I've been inspired my Alina Chau's work so thought I'd throw in some watercolors on it.

Run Mickey Run!!

Here was a concept sketch of Mickey that I had done for a supposed game. I guess it got put on the back burner but all I know is that I had to do some concepts of Mickey and that the main focus is that his body would be ink. Kinda like a Venom type feel. Since the game was more for teens and up they wanted a more edgier looking Mickey. So pretty much this is one of the things I came up with.

I tend to like to sketch out people that have more mass to them. I think there is so much you can add to it with squash and stretch and weight. I have alot to learn on the subject but it's always fun to learn on paper.

Mom's Spinach Myth

Well I'm sure a number of us were told that eating our Spinach would give us muscles like Popeye. Well that's all a myth and unfortunately I had to learn that the hard way when I was a kid. I mean when Popeye ate some it looked all cool and crunchy but man that's what I get for thinking spinach looked and tasted great like the cartoons. So all I have to say about eating spinach to be like Popeye.........NUTS!! Thanks mom for traumatizing my lil heart with that myth.

(Whistles) Who wears Short Shorts.

I drew this out before I forget. I was at the LA county Fair on Fri. and seen this guy in the parking lot. I tried to remember enough of him to sketch him out since then. One thing that really stood out to me was his really short shorts. lol. I will kick myself over and over again because I forgot my pocket sketchbook in the car!!! There was so many people that would have been great to doodle in my book. It was like a buffet for artists. Arrrggggg!!! How could I forget it!! Uggg. I will now continue to kick myself in the you know where.

Tree Sketches

Wanted to play around with some tree sketches. Wanted to show more mass on them. There's so many things to master as an artist or at least get a grasp on so I thought I'd try something out of the norm and doodle some tress. A few I tried in watercolor (another thing I'm learning to try to do) and since I was drawing those trees I might as well throw in an Ent while I was at it.

The Imagination Of A Child

Last night my lil 7yr old was doodling around and I chuckle to myself seeing him in me when I was drawing at his age. I Always had these cool ideas even though they sometimes made no sense but in Kids eyes they are the coolest characters in the world and their imagination just runs with a certain drawing. I thought it would be cool to draw out my lil guys 2 characters and surprise him with the sketch later today. I have no clue what or who they are all I know is one of them is a bunch of webs. lol. Ahhh to be a kid again...hey wait were all kids when we have fun drawing and that's the way it should always be no matter how old or young we are.

Meet Me!!

Well Technically this is me but not me so let's say it's kinda like my alter ego as a kid. I'm going to be posting in the future some sketches of this little guy (me) and put him into scenes that I remember of me growing up when I was young and all the cool and fun and sad moments of my life's journey. Kinda like me telling a story of things that actually happened but in pictures with this little guy. Okay let's just call it Therapy then. lol
