Keeping it Loose

Hey Everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates of late. Hope everyone is doing well and again a million thanks to you all for taking the time to stop by and post a comment.

Well thought I'd post some life or figure drawings. I wanted to post these ones since these are my more loose and spontaneous sketches. I know a lot of us like are sketches to be nice a clean looking and I'm always guilty of that but I'm really trying to make a conscious effort to not think about that and just be loose and quick and the drawings will have a life of their own once done. So go crazy and be loose and spontaneous and not worry if a certain part of the body looks right or wrong it's all about the energy and the main thing is to have fun. I know we all do or else we wouldn't be doing these bloggers. Our Sketchbook drawings should be raw with energy. So here's a few of my loose stuff in pen (always the best to use since it keeps you form erasing a line you might not like) Looking back at these sketches I know I could have pushed the poses even more...but hey that's how we learn right?

Oh and on a side not if you have not picked it up already Mark McDonnells book "The art and feel of making it real" Is a excellent book about gesture and making our sketches tell a story. Highly recommend it and it's a great addition to every artist library. I love it.

  5. Ciao Pablo! These are really nice! Love the fluidity in the sketches! A while back I was also trying to create these clean sketches...but sketching is meant to be loose, basically not that clean haha. Mistakes are wanted, because that's how you learn! And personally I love to see all those lines, it adds an extra dimension to a drawing ^_^.

Oh! I haven't picked up that book...I will soon though! *writes it down on her 'books to buy' list* Thanks muchly for the tip!
